2K Games today announced that gamers in most regions who are Gold members on Xbox LIVE can now download an exclusive playable demo of The Darkness II. On January 24, 2012, the demo will become broadly available worldwide for Xbox LIVE members, Windows PC gamers via Steam, and PlayStation 3 users in North America via PlayStation Network. The demo will be made available in most international markets on the PlayStation Network on January 25, 2012.
Inspired by the supernatural horror comic book series created by Top Cow Productions, Inc., and developed by Digital Extremes, The Darkness II tells the next chapter in the story of Jackie Estacado, head of a New York crime family and wielder of the ancient force of chaos known as the Darkness. The demo of The Darkness II places gamers into the role of Jackie as he battles his way through hordes of enemies hell-bent on claiming the power of the Darkness for themselves. With this demo, gamers will get a taste of the violent power of the demonic abilities at Jackie’s disposal as he faces off against the ancient Brotherhood in the single-player campaign.
The Darkness II is the sequel to the hit 2007 title, The Darkness, and brings a unique new combat mechanic through Quad-Wielding, which allows players to slash, grab and throw objects and enemies with two Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons. The game is layered with thematic elements of dark versus light, steeped in deep and twisted storytelling, and drenched in stylistic violence which is brought to life through the hand-painted graphic noir art style, true to its comic book origins.
The Darkness II will be available in North America for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows PC on February 7, 2012, and internationally on February 10, 2012.

Here is the Prologue trailer for Atelier Meruru: The Aprentice of Arland! Coming to the Playstation 3 in May from NIS America.
NIS America announced that Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland will bring its alchemic adventure experience to its fans in North America and Europe in May, 2012. Atelier Meruru is the latest installment in the fan-favorite Atelier series. With Atelier Meruru, the Arland trilogy comes to a most enchanting conclusion. Atelier Meruru follows the story of spunky Princess Meruru, who finds herself entranced by alchemy and vows to become Totori Helmold’s apprentice. With new and updated game systems and returning characters from Atelier Rorona and Atelier Totori, Atelier Meruru will once again capture the hearts and minds of all the Atelier fans out there.

Warner Brothers have released a new character vignette for Lollipop Chainsaw, introducing Swan; The Goth Geek Bastard! Lollipop Chainsaw will be out later this year for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
Every school has its outcasts, and Lollipop Chainsaw’s San Romero High is no exception. Swan is the resident Goth Geek Bastard who loathes people and society. Seeking revenge on the people who rejected and ridiculed him, Swan is on a mission to take over the world.
But there was one thing he did not count on – Juliet, San Romero’s resident cheerleader and zombie-slayer, kicking his ass.

Mad Catz have announced the shipping of the SOULCALIBUR V Arcade FightStick Soul Edition, a Tournament Edition fighting game controller designed for use with the upcoming SOULCALIBUR V videogame from Namco Bandai Games Inc!
The Soul Edition FightStick features the Namco Noir button and stick layout along with custom artwork and is expected to be released for the Xbox 360 and for the PlayStation 3.

Capcom have announced the complete list of Versus Modes for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Players will be able to experience online 4 vs. 4 team battles playing as either a member of the Umbrella Security Service (USS) or US Spec Ops. Check out all the details on the modes below and watch this brand new gameplay trailer.
Take on the role of the bad guys with USS members Vector, Beltway, Lupo, Four-Eyes, Spectre or Bertha. Alternatively play as the good guys and experience the horrors of Raccoon City as Tweed, Dee-ay, Harley, Willow, Shona or Party Girl, members of the US Spec Ops that we revealed earlier this week in the Triple Impact trailer. Meet the US Spec Ops characters in person by downloading their new character art on the press site. Breaking the conventions of traditional third person shooters, players will not only have to compete against their team’s opposing squad but tackle a third unpredictable force as zombies and B.O.W.s add to the mix.
